Thought I'd try the sharedbit DL link for kicks. Tried it on two different browsers with no luck. They just having a bad day, or is it another third-rate time-waste that should be avoided?

That's the worst bullshit I've read in a loooooooooong time !!
I assume you must be a non-premium account user to say anything as ridiculous as that.
All of the 3 hosts have very high speed, if you pay for a premium account ..... and of coz no host offers as high a speed for free riders as if you pay the very reasonable price to have a premium account.
As far as NL goes - it's the most reliable host of all.
Hardly ever fails to deliver at max speed - and if the connection fails for instance due to maintenance you get compensated with 1 or several days added free to the period of your subscription (btw. I've seen no maintenance work going on for at least a year, so it's a very rare occation). On top of that many NL hosted files stay alive for years.
So perhaps you should consider paying for a premium account ??
I've no problem whatsoever with you liking sharedbit, but that doesn't give you the right to lie about the other hosts!
